The Shoebill. Zoo Zurich, Switzerland 🇨🇭May 25, 2008
This dinosaur looking stork-like bird is a Shoebill. They live in tropical east Africa in large swamps from Sudan to Zambia. This was from one of my favorite trips. I remember this moment as if it were yesterday, yes this moment. 🤔 Crazy how this was almost exactly 11 years ago today. 😳 So I saw this at the Zurich Zoo, regarded as one of the best in Europe. I remember walking by, and this thing caught my attention. I thought it was the craziest looking thing I ever saw, and therefore wasn’t real or alive. Then it blinked and I was like...😯😎

Sheep outnumber people in Scotland. Here you can see it’s lambing season, and my goodness there were plenty of lambs to distract us. With each encounter, and they came often, it was as if we hadn’t seen a lamb before. 😂 📷🐑 🐑
